Over Hyped & Not Great Production Values

What a disappointment! I love so much of what little William James Adams Jr has put out over the years. Not just solo stuff, but all his co-projects too. I was really eager to get my hands on the full version of this song after watching the NASA/Mars news footage last month. Yet now I feel so deflated. The chorus is catchy but everything else is just... well okay I suppose. Maybe I was expecting too much? What really disappointed me was the production values as it's (usually) what sets Will I Am releases apart. Second only to Trevor Horn at his productive peak in the early 80's. Let's hope the Martians don't think this track is representative of everything Will I Am has done in the past. Big fan of vocoders and autotune though. I can only hope Will has something far better up his sleeve for the remixes. Something up to his usual production standards. Sorry Will, but "could do better", and has done so many times before. I suspect this is what happens when an artist feels obliged to work to the deadlines of a greater force!
