iTunes Review

Although 2010’s A Thousand Suns and 2012’s Living Things found LINKIN PARK embracing a palette of sweeping electronics, The Hunting Party, is a forceful return to the guitar-driven, rap-laced rock of 2000’s breakthrough Hybrid Theory. Searing guitar solos, double-time rhythms and thrashing intensity make “Keys to the Kingdom” and “Rebellion” among the band’s heaviest songs to date, while other highlights—like “Wastelands” and “Guilty All the Same” (featuring legendary rapper Rakim)—fuse elements of classic hip-hop with the guitar heroics. The more poignant moments of The Hunting Party come with the brooding “Until It’s Gone” and the triumphant, fist-in-the-air chorus of “Final Masquerade”.

Cant Wait!!!

Until its Gone and Guilty All The Same are amazing! Honestly can’t wait until the full album is released, LP Forever!

What did I just buy?

Is THIS what Linkin Park have to offer now? I was excited when I saw they were bringing out a new album and pre-ordered it straight away; I even liked all the songs that they pre-released but now the full album is here I feel nothing but disappointment.

I feel as though with all of their experimentation they don't know how to make a cohesive album anymore and I get the impression that half of these songs were simply rejected from other albums and were used as filler for this one. I would advise that if you are a fan of Linkin Park's old music, or even their newer music for that matter that you just stick with the tracks that they pre-released. The rest of the album is utter garbage.

Complete waste of money. I have never been so unhappy with a Linkin Park album as I am right now. Heck I LOVE Linkin Park but I'm deleting half of this album from my iTunes right now so I won't have to listen to these awful tracks again.

Back on track

First 2 tracks sound great so LP hav sounded in a while. High hopes for this album!

Although rooted in alternative metal, Linkin Park became one of the most successful acts of the 2000s by welcoming elements of hip-hop, modern rock, and atmospheric electronica into their music. The band's rise was indebted to the aggressive rap-rock movement made popular by the likes of Korn and Limp Bizkit, a movement that paired grunge's alienation with a bold, buzzing soundtrack. Linkin Park added a unique spin to that formula, however, focusing as much on the vocal interplay between singer Chester...
