hidden away....

This small album tucked away with the classical music is a wonderful minimalist offering, textures and rhythms that wash over like a woven blanket. Anyone who appreciates minimalist techno by the likes of 'The Field', 'Jane', 'Four Tet' (in thier starker moments), or 'Delia Gonzales' should give this a try, it might make thier day. Such a shame it's pigeon holed away with the classical label - like genius and madness, techno and classical are not really far apart.

Edo de Waart established a notable conducting career in the last third of the 20th century, becoming known for clear, exciting performances in a wide range of repertory. He came from a musical family, being the son of a choral singer. He studied oboe with Haakon Stotijn and also conducting at the Music Lyceum in Amsterdam.
