Get down to the kitchen!

Following on from the more successful self-titled debut, Martika's Kitchen shows Martika's development as a pop artist. From the opening title track written by Prince to the cuban salsa of the closing track 'Mi Tierra'there is a great diversity of sounds and styles. From power pop like 'Spirit' and 'Temptation' to sensuous ballads like 'Safe In The Arms Of Love' and 'Take Me To Forever', there is definitely something for everyone here. Prince can be heard on background vocals on 'Love Thy Will Be Done' the first single from the album and a top ten hit in the states and the UK and his influence can be heard elsewhere on the album on the co-written tracks. One of my favourite songs is 'Magical Place' which has a lovely dreamy feel and also 'Pride and Prejudice' is a great tune. Martika is promising to make a comeback in 2012. For now, we will have to be content with this great album!
