iTunes Review

This debut full-length from Seattle’s Macklemore & Ryan Lewis catapulted the duo to international stardom and helped them earn several GRAMMY®s, including Best New Artist and Best Rap Album. From the jump (“Ten Thousand Hours”), the quick-witted Macklemore tips his cap to Malcolm Gladwell as he professes his love of art and paints a picture of his musical journey. Macklemore proceeds to flex lyrical skills (“Can’t Hold Us"), flaunt a passion for budget fashion on the GRAMMY®-winning smash “Thrift Shop,” reveal uncompromised goals (“Make the Money”, “Jimmy Iovine"), and intelligently deliver endearing stories that further distinguish Macklemore & Ryan Lewis from the rap pack (“Same Love", ”Wing$”).

Customer Reviews

One of the best Hip Hop Albums of the year.

I don't usually write reviews, but Macklemore and Ryan Lewis hit a home run with this masterpiece. It is skillfully produced, written, and absolutely astonishing to listen to. Definitely recommend for those who like hip-hop. For those who don't, give it a try, I'm not a big hip hop fan, but this album caught me off guard and gave me chills.

First Hip-Hop artist i've heard with some decent lyrics; every song has a point to it, without being boring! Respect for Macklemore & Ryan Lewis to put such a great album togethor. I'm not a Hip-Hop type of guy, but i truely love this.

Just take a listen, go on, I dare you!

Born Ben Haggerty and raised in Seattle, he debuted as Professor Macklemore in 2000 with the Open Your Eyes EP. Five years later his debut album, The Language of My World, earned him a local following, but it was his 2010 team-up with DJ/producer Ryan Lewis...
