Album Review

Former Codeine Velvet Club and Fratellis frontman Jon Lawler released his debut album, Psycho Jukebox, under the adopted moniker Jon Fratelli. Recorded in L.A. with Fratellis producer Tony Hoffer, Lawler pulled together a myriad of genres and created a colorful-sounding album. The first track released from the record, “Rhythm Doesn’t Make You a Dancer,” combines gritty guitars with the well-oiled pop sensibilities of the Fratellis., Rovi

Customer Reviews

I have been looking forward to this album for months, and it does not dissappoint! Been on three times since I downloaded it first thing today, currently humming Magic & Mayhem in work, it's absolutely fantastic! Cannot wait to hear it all live in upcoming tour! Amazing - thank you!

Honey Honey, Do!

The album sounds great. It captures the happiness and freedom that I guess Jon Fratelli is feeling now that he's away from the Frat pack and the CVC. 'Tell Me Honey' is a good opener, and my personal favourite is 'Santo Domingo'. Despite NME's uppity and shamefully brief review calling this album 'dull and banal', I think this album is magnificent. I also love the T-Rex influenced 'Baby, We're Refugees!'. Considering Jon was trying to cram in more songs after the album was finished shows that he should (hopefully) be releasing a stream of new and great albums! Keep up the great work, don.

Most consistent album of the year...

Love every track
