Album Review

It should come as no surprise that a woman who counts Dionne Warwick as a cousin, Aretha Franklin as a family friend, and whose mother was a legendary session and gospel singer, became a successful R&B act. More surprising is that it took 17 years after her first signing with Arista to produce her first hits compilation. These songs are neatly compartmentalized into "Cool Down" and a "Throw Down" sessions, the former featuring ballads such as "Saving All My Love for You," the latter showcasing remixes of uptempo singles such as "How Will I Know." Four new songs, three of which are duets, are also included. At the time of release, her golden voice had led to an amazing 16 number one hits, an Emmy, Grammys, and several notable collaborations., Rovi

This is the crappy US release

Glancing at the tracklisting, the obvious flaw of this album is that many of the hits are not actually the original versions, but instead forgettable remixes. Outcry from fans in the US prompted a different release for the UK, with the original versions restored, but for reasons unknown, iTunes have decided to give us the US release. My advice would be to track down the physical release of the UK version.

Waste of money

I love the cd version, but the i tunes version is terrible, most of the tracks are different from the uk version and if you like that one do not waste you money on this.

Abosolutly amazing x =)

Houston was able to handle big adult contemporary ballads, effervescent, stylish dance-pop, and slick urban contemporary soul with equal...
