The Basque singing group Mocedades was formed by in 1967 by a handful of college students who sought to bring together the sounds of Latin folks and the Beatles. In 1973, Mocedades appeared on the Eurovision Song Contest performing the song "Eres Tu," which became a smash hit all across Europe as well as the United States, and the group has remained active ever since. 40 Grandes Exitos is a two-disc set featuring a collection of Mocedades' best and best-known songs. Selections include "Eres Tu," "La Barca de Oro," "El Niño Yuntero," "Que Te Me Vas," "La Otra España," and many more.

Spanish vocal group Mocedades was formed in 1967 by four young students from Bilbao. Inspired by folk music and songs by the Beatles, they started a band called Voces y Guitarras, later named Mocedades. When producer Juan Carlos Calderon listened to their first demo, he was instantly convinced about the chance they would have to become a major act in the local scene.
