Emo like it was made for

Nowadays, emo is a fashion statement and a reason for boys to wear skinny jeans and something for teenagers to blast on the radio to let out their 'teenage angst.' But this album is where real emo was MADE....by the time 2000 hit the genre was dead, but albums like Jimmy eat world's 'Clarity' and Mineral's 'The power of failing', along with The Get Up Kids' 'Something to write home about' are records that were real, and produced as if you were there in the studio, and written fantastically. well this record is where the 6 real years of emo began, and it ended with American Football's self titled and Texas Is The Reason's 'Do You know who you are?'

its fantastic, brilliant and vibrant. With In Circles being a fan favourite, but personally the drums on song about an angel get my vote every time. This record is absolutely golden, and everyone should buy the vinyl (as it sounds better on vinyl, as most things do) - so put down the 'my chemical romance' and listen to a big part of emo history, a genre which has sadly since faded and died, but created amazing records that tell stories like no others quite do.

Emo classic.

I totally agree with the other review. Apart from a select group of bands making true emo, the genre has sadly turned into mindless rubbish. However, this album is a classic. SDRE had a sound that was their own. Jeremy's unique, powerful vocals send shivers down my spine and the drumming and guitar work is also very, very impressive. Lyrically beautiful aswell. There's an endless list of things that make this album such a captivating listen, but I'll let you figure that out for yourself. Classic.
