iTunes Review

Annie Lennox's post-Eurythmics years have seen her Arctic Goddess persona gradually melting away, revealing the vulnerable mortal underneath. The Annie Lennox Collection testifies to the consistent strength and stylistic focus of her output since the release of her solo debut Diva in 1992. Lennox’s unmistakable voice — by turns remote, insinuating and anguished — works best in stately, elegantly tooled pop settings. From songs of romantic discontent (“Why,” “No More ‘I Love You’s’”) to maternal joy (“Precious”) and urban angst (“Pavement Cracks”), she’s found ways to apply her otherworldly presence to universal themes and emotions. Along the way have been some intriguing side projects, including soundtrack contributions to Bram Stoker’s Dracula (“Love Song for a Vampire”) and Lord of the Rings – Return of the King (“Into the West”), both included here. The buoyant “Pattern of My Life” (written by Keene’s Tom Chaplin) and the celebratory “Shining Light” (first recorded by the Irish group Ash) are newly recorded tracks with an upbeat edge. Lennox has grown even more expressive and human with time.

Where is the deluxe version?

I love Annie, and have been waiting for this release...but where is the deluxe version (with 8 extra rare tracks) available at all other retailers. I am not buying this version only for itunes to put the deluxe version up in a few days time so i end up buying both! Whats going on?

Annie Lennox does it again.

What a heart filled album. A woman’s work throughout her life. The clarity and depth of her angelic voice tears through my body and resonates deep down in my soul. Her vulnerability and honesty with her music is humbling. Her final rendition of walking on broken glass blew me away. She has the ability to re-invent her music. The clear quality of her voice. The transition between the cord modulations is amazing. How does she do it. Needing little to no enhancement at all. I doubt many artist can come close to this woman’s remarkable talent. Even in the media eye she is sincere. Donating time and money to charity and helping others. I have liked her since i was a little boy and now i am a man i love her even more. ! Her music brings back fond memories, pain and happiness. The core ingredients of true life.

I love Annie Lennox her music and her voice is amazing, shame they only put 16 tracks on iTunes store but never mind
