Some Kind Of Genius!

After hearing fun.'s debut album Aim and Ignite, i had high hopes for them when i heard they were doing a sophomore album. When We Are Young hit the charts and did so well i was so happy that they were hitting the mainstream and getting the recognition they deserve. After all, the lead vocalist has an amazing voice.
I pre ordered the album straight after hearing that track. I got the CD today. I have to say that i'm not disappointed. This band has such a unique sound and a brilliant quirk to their music. It sounds slightly like Queen and Mika if they were to fun into each other. But essentially they have their own sound and i'm loving it!

The album opens up with Some Nights (intro) and it's a belter. It feels like it's woken you up. You feel focused and you listen to every word he says. From that point on you're pretty much under his spell. Some Nights and We Are Young are brilliant tracks. It Gets Better, All Alone and One Foot are also some of the highlights on the album in my opinion.
The worst tracks (using that word lightly), i think, are All Alright and Stars. But in all honestly i can just stick this CD on and let it run. There's not a track on the album i actually dislike but some songs are better than others. Overall, a brilliant album for a truely epic and unique band :D

Perfection personified.

Absolute brilliance, I love this album, I love this band. They are gonna be big!!!

Auto-tune?.. REALLY?!

What the hell have they done... They were fantatic, querky, used to tell a story to the incredibly catchy plink-plonks on a piano.. used to move you emotionally.. Sorry Original Fun. fans... this is a 1 song album.. the rest is all samey, or ruined by the God forsaken auto-tune that seems to be destroyin music nowadays...
