3rd album wonderfulness.

Here we are then with album number 3 from Blackheart.

After two records of almost uncategorisable beauty (I'll call it acoustic-based, folk-pop to give you a better idea), can the duo of Chrissy and Rick top their previous releases?

From the opening bars of the reworked Sky & I, it seems they can. And then some.

'Songs from a Satellite' is another pop-tastic breath of fresh air and possibly their best and most rounded Long-Player to date.

I've seen these guys live several times and they are engaging on record as they are in concert; and that's not an easy trick to pull off.

The songs are full of trademark Blackheart atmosphere and wonder. Chrissy's voice rings true and clear throughout and the arrangements and playing are pure Blackheart. Anthemic, yet poetic, there are touches throughout of an English, more pop-orientated Clannad - and that's a very good thing.

Standout tracks are many, and it's almost impossible to select just one or 2 songs for special praise, but my personal faves are the aforementioned 'The Sky & I, 'Not Over Yet', 'Waiting For Light', and - next single please - the delightful 'Come The Fall'.

The genius of the Cocteau Twins-like 'Hey Pluto' finishes this lovely record off splendidly and everything in between entertains and bewitches in the way a proper old-fashioned whole album should.

If you've heard a little bit of Blackheart and want more, then this whole record should be purchased immediately and enjoyed forever after.

Thoroughly recommended.

A 5* Hidden Gem

A 5* recommended album.
The magical vocals of Chrissy Mostyn complement each track individually in the most unique ways that most artists fail to capture.
From the haunting "Living In The Underworld",the uplifting "Everything You Are" and the mesmerising "Hey Pluto" this album has songs that everyone will be tapping there feet and singing along to.
Not only a fantastic easy listening album but an album when preformed live becomes even more magical.
A must buy album and a must see live act.
