Still the Best… ten years on

I can understand people hankering after days gone by and wanting to have the albums they bought ten years ago, just updated - but music and especially dance music has moved on in that time

Clubland 1 heralded a time when commercial dance music was largely ignored and it was essentially an underground thing in that there were no albums reflecting it and Radio One completely ignored it, favouring the Pete Tong-esque trendy house… which had by that time become tired and didn't represent the up and coming generation

Clubland was fresh, new and exciting, bringing UK and European artists to a market that was already devouring these tunes in the clubs - it just represented what young clubbers were actually listening to

Fast forward ten years, the actual clubs are decimated for many reasons; the whole dynamic has changed

Artists such as Rihanna, Guetta and a host of others are making that same commercial dance music that Clubland was standing for back in the beginning but now it has become the accepted mainstream - Radio One do play it!

Now there aren't the tracks that were coming through the traditional Clubland artists of 2002, 2003 - the scene has moved on. But there are a host of new tracks that come through Europe - there were always a few but now the UK artists have gone from a majority to a minority

Would Clubland 21 be better if it featured lots of sub-standard tracks but in that "traditional Clubland" style as people remember it - no, it would be slated as being out of date and out of touch. And rightly so. There are very few places where you will hear tracks at 140-150bpm like you would 5 years ago - things have slowed down…

Clubland is there to represent what is actually happening in the commercial dance scene - to put the biggest tracks on whilst also give access to new tracks that would otherwise be unavailable - to create an album of tracks that represent what is actually going on.

You may not like it but that's probably not the fault of this album - more that you have changed or moved on or perhaps there just aren't the tracks around that you like just at the moment

But Clubland 21 has number 1 dance singles, new tracks from big club artists, brand new remixes, brand new artists, tracks that will become hits in the next few weeks and months... all on one album, for about 20p a track if you buy the whole album

It is the freshest and the best dance album you can buy if you want what's going on now, in Summer 2012... and it seems a little unfair that some people slag it off for doing what it always has done - featuring the best in commercial dance music.

Lets face it, 'Clubland' music is dead. It is nothing like it used to be. All it is now is trashy remixes of songs like Cheryl Cole and Tulisa. Can you really call these talented artists?

The only 2 songs worth buying on this album are Matrix and Futurebound and Sebastian Ingrosso ft. Ryan Tedder

Clubland is rubbish!

Why bad reviews?

Don't know why you are all slating this release I think it's I've of the better clubland releases it has a lot of the latest tunes on and some great mixes, get to get ready for a night out
