not great!

a couple of good tracks but nothing special. i much prefer the divine comedy and pugwash as bands in their own right. A collaboration between the two could be good but this cricket drivel really annoys me!

Thomas Walsh (Duckworth) & Neil Hannon (Lewis) return for a second album of rib tickling/pathos driven cricken themed pop/rock. Those who enjoy the layered beat group harmonies of Walsh's band Pugwash and the inventive wordplay and arrangements of Hannon's divine day job will find much to love here. 'Mystery Man' is a fab Madness pastiche and 'Sticky Wickets' a terrific Stonesy rocker with added Crowded House. Only the 80's over the top electronica of 'Line & Length' feels like it's been beamed in from another record entirely - the rest is a triumph. And did I say it all sounds a little like ELO.

It's Not cricket !!

It is actually! good test of a cool album is something you keep dipping into and listening to lots, like this one one of my top summer albums this year and better than the first un !!

After Walsh asked Hannon to contribute to a Christmas charity record, the pair discovered a mutual appreciation of ELO and cricket, and decided to combine the...
