An amazing album

This was a remarkable debut and it still sounds great all these years later. The subject of abandonment and childhood unhappiness dominate the album, making it moving and at times emationally raw, but the quality of the songwriting and production make this a compelling jouney.


This was the first album I ever bought, I also had their posters plastered over my bedroom walls. I still adore them after all these years and now my daughter listens to them too. My favourites are Pale Shelter, Mad World, Memories Fade, Change and Watch Me Bleed. Great Stuff.

I purchased this on vinyl on the day of release in 83, a classic album. Still as good today as it was then.
