Alexandre Desplat must be one of the most underrated of movie composers. Most peole know Horner, Nyman and Newman, yet in recent years, Desplat has been producing some consistently beautiful film scores - 'The Girl With The Pearl Earring' a case in point. Yet, with 'Benjamin Button' he has truly excelled himself. Lush and lovely, comforting and quirky, this soundtrack is a proper charmer that lingers long in the memory. 'A New Life' and 'Love Returns' are heart-achingly warm and wonderful, and 'It Was Nice To Have Met You' is sprinkled with strings that wouldn't be out of place on the Pinocchio soundtrack, at the part where he becomes a real boy! 'Sunrise at Lake Ponchartran' is every bit as gorgeous as its title. Understated and affecting, This soundtrack contains some of the most beautiful music have heard in a long time. If you are in need of a little home-made romance this Valentine's day, put this on and drift...

A moving score

Its so nice to have a beautiful score and also to include some of the dialogues. Its these small extras, that add that little bit of extra value and remind you that a good film can be a real experience. It can take you away from the realities of the real world just once in a while.Thats worth it just every so often!
