Album Review

This fourth album from the Welsh metallers is the follow-up to 2010's Fever. Produced once again by Don Gilmore (Linkin Park, Lacuna Coil), it sees the band continue to mine a fruitful seam of '80s thrash and should appeal to fans of that genre, as well as those of other similarly influenced modern acts like Trivium, Avenged Sevenfold, and Escape the Fate. This deluxe edition adds three bonus tracks., Rovi

A rushed, mediocre mess that falls very short of their previous work

To say that Bullet are as hungry to write music as they were in 2004 would be to lie. Im a huge fan of Bullet and always will be. But that doesnt mean I'm going to deny the fact that this is a bad album.

After hearing Temper Temper for the first time, you can almost hear Matt Tuck and Moose in the studio saying, "Meh, that'll do." between the tracks. The album is unimaginative, uninspired and just doesnt seem as colourful as their older work. Of course, i'd be a fool to think they'd return to their old style. They never will. They will try and evolve and that's fine by me. I will always support this band. They gained a more mainstream audience through their third effort 'Fever' and stated when asked about this upcoming album that it was going to be more of a Hard-Rock album. Im open minded, Im always curious to see what they will do, whether it is more mainstream or Hard Rock and if you complain about those factors then you certainly are ill informed. What the real alarm bell about this album should be is that the songs are BAD SONGS. Whether its heavy or not.

The tracks feel very forced. You can literally FEEL the band getting sick and tired and bored through out the album. You dont have to delve into deep psychological theory to see that this is blatently a rushed, uninspired and generally tired album. It feels old already and its barely even been released yet.

Im not angry that the album is like this. Its actually quite sad. Because this band is capable of so much more thab what Temper Temper is.

Im not a bitter fan, im just saying what 90% of people are thinking but dont want to admit. I wish i could say that this stands up to The Poison. Heck, even Fever. But it doesnt. Its much worse. Believe me when I say that this album is not worth buying. In fact, its not worth torrenting. If youre a big bullet fan, listening to it will just make you feel sad and let down.

Sorry Bullet. The worst part is, i think deep down, even you know that this isnt a great album.

Okay...

Nowhere near as good as their other albums, the best song is Not Invincible (its not even on the standard edition) And even then it sounds like an average song from Poison. Not worth a tenner!

Awesome Band, Awesome Album

Another one of Bullets best albums.. All the songs are amazing. Don't listen to what people say, listen to it yourself. You may find you'll be amongst the people that knows how good it is and laugh at the haters.

Since their inception in 2003, the Welsh quartet Bullet for My Valentine have been taking cues from '80s metal bands and the punk-infused metal of the new millennium to make melodic, metallic, dark rock songs. Originating from Bridgend, South Wales — a breeding ground for likeminded groups like Funeral for a Friend and LostProphets — the group consists of childhood friends Matthew Tuck (vocals/guitar), Michael Padget (guitar/vocals), Jason James (bass/vocals), and Michael Thomas (drums)....
