Leap of Faith

Leap of Faith

Kicking off with the mid-tempo track "My Wave", whose gentle beats wind their way around tender, affectionate lyrics, Leap of Faith makes it clear that Ghanaian producer Juls aims to own the romantic, R&B-flavoured side of Afropop on his debut album. Guest spots from the likes of London rappers Kojey Radical and Eugy, and cutting-edge Nigerian producers Maleek Berry and Odunsi (The Engine), add an appealing hard edge to tracks like the sultry "Coco" and vintage scratch-heavy "Temperature". But it's in the lightly strummed guitar and smoothly seductive croon of guest vocalist Moelogo on closing track "Eji Owuro" that Juls finds his groove.
