Customer Reviews

Unexpected but great!

Its aways a pleasure to hear Andrea sing, although the backing track on most of these songs wont get her a top ten hit apart from "Shame on you" which has been remixed for radio already. It's great iPod music and lets face it thats what the iPod and iTunes is designed for, the individual. Dont expect to hear any Corrs sounds on this albulm. Fresh new sounds which im all for. Well done for not sticking to the main stream Andrea. Im proud of you

Irish Gem

The Corrs as a family group struggled to get noticed and appreciation at the beggining, then everything seemed to explode with a remixed cover version of Dreams. Some time after the second album was released it topped charts. Their debut single from the 3rd album went straight into number 1 in the UK and other countries. However, the album of Irish classics did not receive such a welcoming in the UK and it is great now to hear a fantastic solo offering from Andrea, the lead vocalist. This album combines Andrea's bouncy, fun and melodic vocals with a mixture of classic Corr's style and the twee irish inspirations with the radio friendly production. A variation of tracks that makes a great summer album. (just missing the sun here in the UK!) But pop it on in the car with the music up or in your ears in your ipod as you walk around town and it can't help, but bring a smile to your face. The first single to be released, Shame On You is lively and get's your toes tapping. The introduction, Hello Boys welcomes you to the album in a lively fashion. My only dissapointing track on this album so far would be I Do. Sounds like a nursery rhyme and is very basic. The rest of the tracks I have enjoyed from the start and want to play again and again, growing on me with each listen.

Heres The Deal...

Odds are, you won't like the first track on the album, but don't be turned of, though it takes a little while and quite a bit of listening, 'Ten Feet High' by former 'The Corrs' singer Andrea Corr, can be well worth you money. In particular the 3rd track 'Shame On You (To Keep My Love from Me)', with it's almost adult alternative beat, is an exceptional track within itself and without doubt the best track on the album. I recommend that you try Andrea's first solo album and out. Odds are, you'll find something in it, you'll relate to. X

Irish singer and actress Andrea Corr was perhaps best known as the lead singer of the Corrs, a Celtic pop group that enjoyed popularity throughout the late '90s and early 2000s. But when the Corrs took a break in 2006 (as several of the members cited a desire to have more time with their respective families), Corr struck out on her own with her first solo effort, Ten Feet High. Executive produced by Bono and released in 2007, the album featured 11 songs written by Corr in addition to Squeeze's "Take...
