The Best.

At a mere 79pence one may not have to think too hard about this one, but a review you shall have! ...Trail of Dead's live shows during the "Worlds Apart" tour were nothing short of awesome. Instruments were smashed, sweat was sprayed on to the front rows and no one was quite sure what was going to happen next. Not to mention the addition of a second drummer added a new degree of power and visual energy to the spectacle. With this in mind, how does a ...Trail of Dead live single match up? At first you notice the instant power when the two drummers kick in. The raw energy of the tribal drums on the "Worlds Apart" album shines through in their live recording thankfully. However Conrad (Singer/Songwriter) has a tendency to write songs in a range higher than he's most comfortable with, and you do notice the strain a bit live. While this can be forgiven when you can see him rocking back and forth like a loony and destroying his guitar, it does detract from the general *awesomeness* of this recording. Despite that, it's a good representation of ...Trail's live sound and packs the beautiful punch we have come to expect. Ultimately this is a mere slice of their mind blowing live show, and is no substitute for the real thing. If you want to hear Trail of Dead at their sonic best, go buy the albums, and if you're already a fan? Download this now!

The longtime friends originally met in Hawaii before settling in the indie hotbed of Olympia, Washington, where Reece drummed for the notorious Mukilteo Fairies. After relocating together to Austin, Texas, the duo began playing shows as "You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead," eventually adding...
