Great Collection

James weren't the coolest band when i was growing up but when you listen back to these tracks now you can see the quality of their songwriting. I know Sit Down is the one we all remember but there're probably 12 classics on this album - each one with a pretty great memory for me.

Good Stuff

James was one of my favourite bands and I have only recently found out that the lead singer went to my secondary school and played a part in Batmen Begins

Cultural Classic with Cherries on top!

It really doesn't get much better than The Best Of James. This collection of songs offers hundreds of hours of listening pleasure given its incredible looping potential. When an ex and I parted company a few years back, this was the only album of mine she couldn't resist doing a bunk with! It prompted a wry smile when I realised. She had strong morales about that type of thing, but with James the temptation was obviously too much!

The group was pegged as second-rate Smiths, yet continued to tour and record, eventually gaining a sizable following. In the late '80s, James, like many of their British peers, became involved...
