This album is really refreshingly different. The "olde-style" country feel that the album has is rarely seen these days. The upbeat songs such as "Wishful Thinking", "Sister Kate" and "There's A Girl" are really foot tapping and you will have them in your head all day! The two vocals complement each other really well too and the variety of instruments and percussion used really help liven the album up. I would not hesitate recommending this album, if you're looking for something fun and different then give this album a try.

Words cannot do this album justice

If you're into alternative music then this duo won't disappoint. Bound to get your feet tapping and your brain going the duo (plus their fantastic band) manage to lift you out of the darkest day with a smile on your face and a spring in your step. Not only content to make you happy with their juicy lyrics and beautiful voices Amanda and Abby manage to write lyrics which make the listener think of the song and its meaning long after the music has stopped playing. You should also check out their homepage for some fantastic videos to "Wishful Thinking", and "Short Stacks". These are the freshest and most original act I've heard for years and years. Not only that, but the girls like to take life less than seriously (but they still do both melancholy and bittersweet when they need to) Yay for the Ditty Bops!

Though Barrett and DeWald met in New York City in the late '90s, they didn't begin playing music until they moved back to California. Barrett spent her childhood in Topanga and learned to play fretted dulcimer when...
