A welcome return to a band that never went away...

Having been following DOGS since 2004 I am really tired and my hair is really long....

The new E.P. comes with greater maturity and with ever growing enthusiasm for the music. The E.P. never forgets the true sound of DOGS but somehow seems more pure and more precise than ever. From the intro of 'Cost Of Loving' you know this is something special. Every track is personal, individual and has a huge impact. 'This Sorry Scene' is energetic, 'The Floor Fell Away' is poetic and 'Long Walk Home' is a return to the early days.

'When I Threw Stones' is the beginning of the end and leads you into a subdued climax of brilliance. The close of 'Now The Rain Falls' leaves you in a mellow reflective state. The absence of more new material makes you instinctively hit the repeat button - you can't help but want to listen to it all over again...

DOGS have moved on and it's not like it used to be...

Their sound is still fantastic. Hopefully the world will wake up and kick themselves for missing this band for so many years. If you haven't bought this E.P. yet then get buying... if you haven't yet, go and see them live.

Change of Direction! love it x x

I first saw dogs a few years ago at the Reading festival and love their 'Turn against this Land' album.
They always stuck in my mind (what a brilliant live band!) but I haven't heard from them since.

Then I heard 'Cost of Loving' on the radio the other night and fell in love with them all over again!
Brilliant! I can't wait for the album. Musically they've moved on and sound more mature, Johnny Cooke still pens lyrics from the heart and they've still got that urgency that I remember.

If you want some music that digs a little deeper from a quality English rock band, then I can't recommend this enough!!!

Simply Wonderful

Dogs are an amazing band live: I was privileged enough to see their christmas gig in Camden this year, and it simply blew me away. This EP, although different to their two albums, is still an excellent addition to their already stellar discography. It is much less aggressive, and in many ways more mature than the previous two albums, and this makes the band feel more mature. The lyrics, as ever, are poignant and heartfelt, and Johnny Cooke has once again outdone himself on this piece of work. It is an absolute steal - six great songs for under a fiver!

Formed: 2004 in London, England

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '00s

Johnny Cooke (vocals), Luciano Vargas (vocals/guitar), Rikka Mehta (guitar), Duncan Timms (bass), and Rich Mitchell (drums) create the snarly post-punk-influenced tones of Dogs. The London five-piece came together in 2004 and quickly inked a record deal with Island in the U.K. before the year's end. First single "London Bridge" sold out in just one day while follow-up singles "She's Got a Reason" and "Turned to a Different Station" earned Dogs their first spots...
