iTunes Review

Bono’s bell-like voice and The Edge’s ringing guitar lines were honed to deceptively simple melodic perfection, bolstered by the rhythm section’s propulsive marches and airy atmospherics from producers Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois. They were firing on all cylinders here, attacking social barriers (“Where the Streets Have No Name”) and insipid politics (“Bullet the Blue Sky”) while making heartbreak sound anthemic (“With or Without You”).

Zenith almighty

Seeing this set live in Paris was a high point. They got the whole thing right the songs, the power, emotion and they had discovered the desert. At the time they put out a few 45s with 'rare' b sides and it would be great to have those here as part of this remaster. High points 'red hill mining town', 'where the streets..', 'with or without you', 'One Tree Hill' In fact the zenith was such that i stopped listening to what came after until now (after seeing U23d). But this greets the ears like the affection of an old friend. A reliable epic album and there's not a dud song on it. Not only a Steve Lillywhite production but a Brian Eno egg magic production. Elegant, dry, noble.

If you havn't heard this album yet WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ! quite simply the greatest album ever made and will remain that way for a long time yet , Download it - you won't be disappointed.

Through a combination of zealous righteousness and post-punk experimentalism, U2 became one of the most popular rock & roll bands in the world -- equally known for their sweeping sound as for their grandiose statements about politics and religion.
