Very special

I fell in love with Glen and Marketa after watching Once, and didn't take the soundtrack off the iPod for many weeks. I have bought the film for numerous friends. Now this, the Swell Season. There are two or three Once songs on here, beautifully rearranged, but that's a total bonus. The rest of it is just heartbreakingly gorgeous. I think Glen is just a genius, but together the pair is extraordinary. Glen's pared back guitar, Marketa's sparse, haunting vocals, the sweet, thoughtful lyrics. Really, this just carries you away. Personal favourites would probably be The Moon, Alone Apart and The Swell Season (outside of the Once tracks).
