Has it really been 16 years...

Fila Brazillia have long been the acceptable face of understated, mellow, tripped out pop music. There certainly aren't many others who have managed to maintain the humour, couldn't-care-less attitude and consistent quality of Steve Cobby and his chums. Also, they're the best thing to come out of Hull since the M62.


understated mellow electronica you could bracket alongside the likes of lemon jelly. Stand out track for me is The New Cannonball. Definitely worth a listen

Formed in 1990 by producers Steve Cobby and Dave McSherry, Fila followed Cobby's association with Ashley & Jackson, a moderately successful pop/dance group signed to Big Life! that went belly up as the label began demanding more and more pop and less dance.
