dont waste your money

only listened to the 30 second preview and that was enough, this NOT what the northern soul scene is about, poor quality cover versions were not " the northern soul scene "' it only gets one * cos i cant give it none

Sweet, sliding soul.

Decca have released a great example of some sweet sounds, even David Essex gets a mention, but his effort is a classic. Put on your cardigan, complete with Wigan Casino patches, clear the floor and swan dive 'til your hearts content, this brings back memories.

one star - but don't totally ignore

The pudding is right - don't buy the album, but DO look at some of the individual tracks: if you haven't got "Nothing but a heartache" then why not get it here? And while you're at it, "All the time in the world" is worth having, and I actually quite like Truly Smith's version of "My smile is just a frown" - in other words, you do with this album what you do with all Northern compilations, which is sift the nuggets from the no-nos. Since that's only 3 out of 25 tracks (and since David Essex and Brotherhood of Man pitch up on the list - aargh!), I'm afraid 12% equals only 1 star.
