Editors’ Notes

There was more than a little magic in the air when three of the most transcendent voices in American music came together for the first time. The potent pipes of Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt blend with an almost otherworldly glow. On Trio, they tackle a mix of vintage country, classic pop (Phil Spector’s “To Know Him Is to Love Him”) and contemporary tunes from folk-rockers Linda Thompson and Kate McGarrigle for a feel that's simultaneously elegant and earthy.
