Album Review

The Longest EP isn’t actually an EP at all. Instead, it’s a compilation that combines material from the majority of NOFX's previous EPs. Spanning 1987 to 2009, its 30 songs include tracks from The P.M.R.C. Can Suck on This, The Longest Line, Never Trust a Hippy, and Cokie the Clown. Along with these four outings (minus a “Johnny B. Goode” cover, “Seeing Double at the Triple Rock,” and “The Marxist Brothers”), the collection also includes a track apiece from the NOFX/Drowning Roses split Bottles to the Ground and I’ve Become a Cliché before tacking on outtakes from 1996’s F**k the Kids and 2003’s War on Errorism sessions. For the hardcore NOFX fan, it’s a must-have and a perfect companion piece to 45 or 46 Songs That Weren’t Good Enough to Go on Our Other Records.

Awesome

I became a fan of these guys in the late 90s, and although it has always been easy to get their albums, the EPs have been a bit harder to find. Well, this is a compilation of their previous EPs, which is a great idea.
It allows new fans to easily catch up with every NOFX release.
Good show, guys.

Why?

Their last two releases both contain the Cokie The Clown EP, to me this makes no sense. Most of NoFX's EPs have been pretty easy to get and particularly the ones released in this. It was compared to 45 or 46 songs but the difference there for me is that to collect all of those songs you would need to grab as many compilations as there were songs so it was a real money saver. I got all the EPs in my local independent shop or off NoFX's website directly.

Great music, REALLY put me off with this one though, a disc of the 7" of the Month would have been good but this is trying to cash in on some poor fans IMO

Formed in Berkeley, California, in 1983 and relocating to Los Angeles not long afterwards, NOFX steered clear of major labels and commercial exposure over the course of their career, recording an impressive number of full-length albums plus an assortment of EPs and singles. The band started out as a trio comprised of vocalist/bassist Fat Mike (Mike Burkett), guitarist Eric Melvin, and drummer Erik Sandin (aka Erik Ghint/Erik Shun). Sandin quit in 1985, and his place was taken by Scott Sellers; that...
