Colourslide members Dean Newman (guitar), Joe Palmer (bass), and Steve Julian (drums) had played in numerous bands in the Gainesville, FL, area before they landed in a combo called Time. The band trudged on for five years before its lead singer split. Luckily, a mutual friend put them in touch with Alex Lawhon, a vocalist out of North Carolina who joined as the band was changing its name to Colourslide.
