Great performances even if the sound quality could have been better

I understand this was part of a 4CD boxed set but having now heard this after download, I can now see exactly how Yes got to be as big as they got. What this collection lacks in sound quality more than makes up for in energy and musicianship. The early songs in this collection show just how tight a unit Yes were in those days. Bill Bruford's drumming is testament to that. "America" shows that Yes could respect other peoples songs and still bring their own interpretation to things.

Another big surprise is Sound Chaser. I'm not a great fan of Relayer but the live version of this was instantly enjoyable - more so than the original which leaves me cold. If at all possible with current digital technology, is it not possible to split up the tracks into separate channels and remix form scratch and expand the sound? Because if it is, then it would be well worth the exercise. This would make a great collection into a classic collection. Despite that, I highly recommend this.

Their audience remained huge because they had always attracted younger listeners drawn to their mix of daunting...
