Not one to forget

PJ is back after a second forray with John Parish and the mellowed out 'White Chalk' album. To be fair, she's still working with Parish on her latest offering but this time it's solo billing. And she's back with a fantastic taster of the new album!

Coming across like a skeletal Bad Seeds track, halfway this breaks down into a chain-gang chant of the title by fellow musicians Parish and Mick Harvey. With brass and harmonica bolstering the mix this could have been recorded back in the 1930s and not looked out of place. Definitely one of Polly's best songs in a long time (and considering the quality of her last few albums that's saying something!).

Backed by a beautiful, if brief, ballad that's all jangling guitars and mournful vocals, this is a must have for any fan and a strong recommendation for anyone out there who likes good old rootsy guitars.
