Amazing debut

Although not completely original, TWDY take the delicate-soundscapes template of post-rock and add some electronic elements to it, resulting in one of the best debut albums I've heard in a while. The music here is completely instrumental, but unlike other bands with no vocals and long song lengths, these factors do not drag the music down at all, each song having its own shimmering build-ups and climaxes.

I'm not a massive fan of Post-Rock by any means but this album is perfection. The atmospheric songs are beautiful and the use of electronics makes the songs even better. This is one of the best debut albums I have ever heard. A Three-Legged Workhorse is just essential with a great slow intro building up to an epic climax. I'm gutted I wasn't able to see these guys when played near me, it was meant to be an amazing gig. Don't let the song lengths put you off as the songs just fly by and are extremly memorable. Download: A Three-Legged Workhorse and The Mighty Rio Grande (well you can't as it's album only so buy the album)

i like these almost as much as explosions in the sky, both explosions and this will destroy you are by far better than other 'post rock' outfits such as mogwai, godspeed you black emperor,jakob,65daysofstatic etc, i could go on but i dont wanna all in all this is a great album and you should also invest in the ep because this is brilliant atmospheric instrumental music and, unless you have a black hole where your heart is it WILL make you feel something, unlike all of the generic 'indie' rubbish that we get force fed by the media.

Texas post-rock band This Will Destroy You formed in 2005. Members Chris King (guitars), Jeremy Galindo (guitars), Raymond Brown (bass), and Andrew Miller (drums) came together under the notion of pursuing a purely instrumental project, and recorded their demo — which would end up being released as is — shortly after getting together. The EP, entitled Young Mountain, was critically well received, and the band inked a deal with Magic Bullet Records. Brown was out of the band by 2007, replaced...
