The debut full-length from Seattle’s Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, The Heist, is a remarkable introduction to the MC and DJ team. From the jump (“Ten Thousand Hours”), the quick-witted Macklemore tips his cap to Malcolm Gladwell, flexes lyrical skills (“Can’t Hold Us"), reveals uncompromised goals (“Make the Money,” “Jimmy Iovine"), and intelligently delivers endearing stories.
An awesome album, and even though it's the clean version, it's still good and a worthwhile purchase if you're not allowed the explicit version. Although Thrift Shop does sound strange at times, and the fact that it 'censors' the swearing does hinder the beat slightly. But aside from that, it's still awesome. You should get the explicit version because some songs (Thrift Shop) sound the best with swearing in it, but if you're a child who's a fan of Macklemore and you're not allowed the explicit version, get this version, because Thrift Shop is the only song with a lot of swearing and c'mon, the only way your parents let you listen to Macklemore is because of Same Love or White Privilege or any other 'arty' Macklemore songs.
You are a truly amazing guy. Can honestly say Same Love changed everything for me. respect <3
Love him so much!
