Lovely summery sounds

I bought this on the back of Chin Chin's label's usually high quality output and I have to say that this is turning out to be a very strong release indeed. The band's sound can be best described as a highly sophisticated mix of funk, rock, electronica, jazz and pop. The chords are great, the brass section powerful and the tunes have a lovely summery feel about them. Check out "Miami", "Appetite", "Mr Sexy Boy" and "Toot d'amore" as examples of how wonderful they sound, although the other tracks are not duds either. My only criticism is that the rhythm section has been recorded fairly weakly so the sound lacks a bit of "bite", but overall the quality of the musicianship trumps everything. One of my albums of the year!
