Finally!

Having owned the cassette of this album back in the early 90s, but no longer having the means to play it, I was so pleased to find that it had finally been released on iTunes. Previously, even getting hold of a CD copy of this or Red Box’s first album, The Circle & The Square, was next to impossible (and, as someone mentioned in a review of The Circle & The Square, there were rumours that the master versions of these albums had been lost). So, a big thank-you to Mr Toulson-Clarke, the relevant record labels and iTunes for making this much loved piece of my past available once again!

This UK band was formed in 1982 with a line-up comprising Simon Toulson-Clark (vocals/guitar), Julian Close (saxophone), Martin Nickson (drums), Rob Legge (bass), Paddy Talbot (keyboards). The group enjoyed minor success with the independently issued ‘Chenko’ and subsequently signed to WEA Records. This coincided with a reduction in the line-up, from which Clark and Close emerged as a duo. In the summer of 1985, they enjoyed a UK Top 3 hit with the catchy ‘Lean On Me (Ah-Li-Ayo)’.
