Trash Scream

Back in the early 80s, before the hair metal explosion from LA there was Wrathchild. They wore Stackheel boots, make up, studs & chains & used more hairspray than the ozone layer could handle. They signed what became a less than lucrative record deal but on the plus side put this out as their 1st album.

The title track hits you right between the eyes & has a guitar solo many a more famous guitarist would be proud of. The rest of the album is full of sing along highs, from the classic Trash Queen "for a price she'll spread her legs/ concrete slab for a bed", Shokker which I recall a reviewer at the time saying they had to check the credits to make sure it wasn't written by Simmons/Stanley to the Gary Glitter cover of Alrite With The Boyz (hindsight is a great thing & I'm sure they wouldn't have done one of his songs had they known).

There are no low points to this album so come on all you Wrathchildren...

Formed in 1980 in Evesham, Worcestershire, England, as a Black Sabbath -influenced band, it was another two years before Wrathchild emerged at the forefront of the new glam rock scene. Original members Rocky Shads (vocals) and Marc Angel (bass) were joined by ex-Medusa personnel Lance Rocket (guitar) and Eddie Starr (drums).
