Musical journeys to ancient historic trees of the world

‘Treescapes’ is an eclectic album of instrumental music written, performed and recorded by singer/songwriter/composer Bugs aka Julian Hight.
Following the success of his book ‘Britain’s Tree Story - the history & legends of Britain’s ancient trees’ for National Trust, Julian set about compiling a collection of musical pieces he had written and recorded over a 21 year period. Inspired by travels to ancient, historic trees around the world, each track is a musical journey:
1. The Crucible (1992) an arabesque desert journey to Palestine’s ancient olive’s.
2. The Virgin Queen (2009) Elizabethan, Spanish waltz - reflecting Elizabeth’s love of the many ancient English oaks named after her.
3. El Tule (2012) Dusty road trip trumpeting through Mexico to her oldest, largest, cypress tree near Oaxaca.
4. The Liberty Tree (1992) In honour of the famous Boston elm tree where colonists planted the seeds of the American revolution against the British.
5. Easter Moon (1996) Dark, pagan, celtic - a fire-dance in the moonlit wood.
6. Flight of the Mayqueen (2002) Pastural, romantic, Vaughan Willams-esque. A classical requiem for my mother.
7. Hippocratree (2013) A Greek/Turkish bolero beneath Hippocrates Plane tree in Kos. Hippocrates taught there, Koan's talked, drank and danced.
8. Minaret (1995) East meets west, reflecting the giant plane trees, arabesque.
9. Salem’s Oak (1992) Witnessed the witch hunts and more at Salem.
10. Death of a Dream (1992) Lament for our disappearing forests.
11. The Holy Tree (1994) The holy family sought refuge within the hollow trunk of this fig tree whilst in exile in Egypt.
