Aqua Turns Back Time with their Greatest Hits Collection

Yes, Aqua has the right to called this hit collection a 'Greatest Hits' as they were popular over the whole of europe. So the appearance of non-UK release singles My Oh My, Roses Are Red, Belong to the Sea and Lollipop are welcome though europe release singles Bumble Bees and Good Morning Sunshine are missing. The three new tracks are good, 'Live Fast, Die Young' is slightly better than the first single release from the album 'Back to the 80's' while 'My Mamma Said' is a worthy addition to the hits collection. The classics are here in there original form present and correct with the best album tracks from the two cd's they released. Some people who wouldn't give this band a chance would think they are one hit wonders with 'Barbie Girl' but listening to 'Turn Back Time' after many years proves they wrote great music we can all love. My Favourite songs 'Cartoon Heroes' and 'Dr Jones' remind my favourite pop tunes and now Mattel who famously sued Aqua have grown to love 'Barbie Girl' by using the song in their latest advert with some rewrote lyrics. One play of this album will take you back to the good days of 1997 and the happy memories you had back then. So this is a must buy addition to your i-pod

Good to see them back but not enough promotion behind this release to ensure it charts as well as it could have. They r doing really well over in Denmark and Norway, back at number one, and a new album due autumn 2010. They r back but how long it lasts in the uk.... Who knows!

Love it!!

So many good memories, love it! Love it!!

Storming onto the global music scene in the fall of 1997, Danish dance-pop outfit Aqua aroused controversy when Mattel filed a lawsuit against them for the sexual overtones inherent in their breakthrough hit, "Barbie Girl." The roots of the quartet trace back to 1989, when Claus Norreen and Søren Rasted (both keyboards/drum machine) were working together on the soundtrack for a Danish film, Fraekke Frida. During this time they met future member René Dif (rap/vocals), who introduced them to Norwegian...
