Album Review

Hefty Fine features 12 tracks — nine songs and three interludes — of self-consciously tasteless jokes not far removed from the Bloodhound Gang's third album, 2000's Hooray for Boobies. From the moment the processed distorted guitars kick in on "Balls Out," you know exactly where the album is going. Jimmy Pop gets his best joke out of the way in the spoken opener — "Eminem's gotta cuss in his raps to sell records/Well, me too/So f*ck Will Smith." The music is almost entirely alt-metal, with the exception of parodies of dance music from the early '90s. The Bloodhound Gang have never wanted to be anything other than a dumb, silly hard rock band, and that's what they are on Hefty Fine.

Bloodhound Gang:Hefty Fine, a decent album

It's a decent bordering on great album, the best song is definitely Foxtrot Uniform, followed by Uhn Tiss. These guys continue to be unique and successful. Bring on more albums!

Good Album

A fantastically catchy album with all the usual funny lyrics that have become synonymous with the Bloodhound gang. This album has some amazing tracks that draw a perfect line between rock and dance (a reasonably un-tapped market.) The music generally consists of a solid drum foundation mixed with some funky synthesised melodies. When this is mixed with the often heavy guitar riffs and Jimmy pop's interesting vocals, you have something unique. 'No hard feelings' is a proud moment of this album, as is 'Uhn Tiss...' The album does feel like it is over-crammed with fillers and skits that, to be honest, aren't anywhere near as funny as what you'll find on 'One fierce beer coaster' or 'Hooray for boobies' Consider buying these superior albums first

Years Active: '90s, '00s

Led by the obnoxious and proud Jimmy Pop, Bloodhound Gang are an alternative rock band out of King of Prussia, PA, who rose to fame in the late '90s thanks to lyrics filled with sexual innuendo and sophomoric humor. Formed by Pop and friend Daddy Long Legs in 1992, the group was first called Bang Chamber 8 before they lifted the name Bloodhound Gang from the '70s children's public television show 3-2-1 Contact. Calling Howard Stern a key influence, Pop designed the band to "hurt everyone's feelings;...
