Album Review

While his previous album, I Giorni, was based on a 12th century Malian folk song about a hippopotamus, Italian composer Ludovico Einaudi's 2004 follow-up, Una Mattina, is inspired by a much more simple premise, his daily routine and the Piedmont vineyard where he resides with his family. The 12 autobiographical, contemporary, and minimalist classical pieces are all piano-based with the exception of two tracks featuring cellist Marco Decimo ("Resta con Me," "DNA"). ~ Jon O'Brien, Rovi

Feed Your Soul!!!

Simply atmospherically and spiritually brilliant. Soul medicine. Just listen and share with your loved ones. In the car in traffic, you are away, above everything. Try it.

Moves even the most guarded Soul

Even if classical music is not something that would normally appeal, the album will touch you somewhere that will move you in a way that music is supposed too. Its magical tunes represent life and will take you away from all the stresses of life. Nuvole Bianche is the best tune here. Download this and it will heal forever.

Einaudi's best work to date

Una Mattina is quite simply a beautiful album. It manages to put across deep levels of thought provoking complexity whilst seeming quite simple in its composition. Highlights include "Una Mattina", "Ora" and the haunting "A Fuoco". Great to have on in the background whilst trekking around the Malverns!.
