Musically Good but Technically Poor

This album is seriously let down by the overly quiet recording level. On an iPhone or iPad without an independent speaker system, it has to be at maximum volume to be heard more than a foot or two away. If there's any background noise, forget it - not one to listen to when getting the Christmas dinner ready. If you put some of the songs onto a playlist, you'll be diving for the volume control at the end of every song on this album to avoid your eardrums being burst by the next song (if you're listening through independent speakers).

There are at least three choral groups identified collectively as the "Winchester Cathedral Choir." All are based at the Cathedral in Winchester, construction on which was begun in 1079 and serves as the mother church to one of the oldest dioceses in England. Though heavily damaged in the reforms under Henry VII in the late 1530s, over time the Cathedral has been rebuilt. The choirs perform three to four services a day, six days a week.
