Album Review

Though the early tracks on this Astralasia collection (spanning 1991 to 1995) are rather bland examples of ambient techno-trance, Astralogy also presents the group hitting their stride with later highpoints like "Hashishin," "Mother Durga," and "Sul-E-Stomp" (recorded with Suns of Arqa). It's the best single Astralasia release available, even if it does stop before their American contract with Cleopatra.

The mysterious ambient-dub and tribal house unit known as Astralasia fits in with other British electro-hippie mystics such as Eat Static, Banco de Gaia and frequent collaborators Suns of Arqa.
