Album Review

Flaco Jimenez has recorded dozens of conjunto songs and albums and done material for both the American and Latino markets. This 14-cut Rounder anthology featured material recorded for the Mexican-American audience, and includes tunes that address such issues as immigration and the lifestyle of the border community. His vocals and instrumental abilities are quite impressive, and provide solid examples of classic ethnic music seldom heard outside its target area.
