Customer Reviews

Awesome.

For me this was Vangelis's last truly great album. Simply everything you'd expect from the master of electronic music.

Vangelis Voices

Well I'm a fan (of most of his work), therefore, a biased opinion would be expected here - not so. My opinions are purely based on the premise that, with rhythm and melody being key to all great compositions, Vangelis's ability to combine them to haunt, arouse, uplift, mesmerize and leave you floating and bedazzled in a state of euphoric wonderment, whilst he 'allows' Voices to wash over your soul like a stealth like torrent of karma, make this piece of music - a master one! From the ethereal 'Prelude' to the simply outstanding 'Ask The Mountains', (and everything in between) Vangelis has produced (possibly) his finest work to date. This album is a ‘must have’ for any true music lover. Its completeness lies in its simplicity. With Vangelis 'less' is definitely 'more'. All superlatives I've thought of seem inadequate - it's just incredible...

What can I say...?

Not much except this is one of Vangelis's finest pieces - Not much of a review but when I heard this album it just blew me away :)

Born Evangelos Odyssey Papathanassiou in Volos, Greece on March 29, 1943, his nascent musical talent was recognized at an early age, but he refused to take piano lessons, instead teaching himself. After high school he formed the early-'60s pop group Formynx, soon the most popular act in Greece. After achieving stardom at home, Vangelis...
