Great Album

Love this album and have not stopped playing since I bought it. Can believe Emma Stevens is not better known. Watch this space as I'm sure once she breaks through she will be huge.

No ifs, buts or maybes, Waves is an outstanding second album!

From the haunting and beautiful Walking, the anthemic and resolutely positive Shooting For the Moon through to the unashamedly poppy Bad Habit, Waves is proof, if proof were needed, that Emma Stevens is here to stay.

Exquisitely produced by Pete Woodroffe, Waves demonstrates a positive, but natural evolution from Emma’s debut album ‘Enchanted’. Whilst tracks such as the infectious Anywhere will be instantly recognisable to anyone familiar with Emma’s music, others such as Make My Day, with its harder edged electric guitar driven rift and Gold Rush, with it’s fast paced ‘Gypsy Pop’ vibe, provide Waves with its own unique sound.

There are darker songs too though, Nothing Serious describes how the uncertainty of a love in a new relationship can be resolved when a life-changing event occurs and Helium uses the metaphor of the irreplaceable gas escaping from the atmosphere to describe the loss and heartbreak when a relationship fails. For me it’s the highlight of the album and is, perhaps, Emma’s best recording to date.

It’s difficult to categorise the 12 tracks on Waves into any one particular genre – it’s positive, heartfelt and thought provoking music that spans pop, folk and country. Try it, then buy it, you won’t be disappointed.

Always makes me smile :-)

Once again, the lovely Emma Stevens brings us pure happiness in an album. A collection of wonderful music, including Gold Rush with a banjo solo and Shotting For The Moon which just makes me smile every time I hear it. A CRACKING second album and here's to many many more! Love and hugs, to all, Shaun C Bryant - SInger/Songwriter

PS - Full credit must also go to the superb musical team Emma works with; Bob, Pete, Sam, James and everyone else - a wonderful album!
