iTunes Review

Before “Chandelier” perfected the power ballad for the ‘10s, Sia loaded her fifth album with itchy party-starting pop that’s just as emotional as her more sombre earlier work. Skittering electro jams like “Big Girl, Little Girl” and the funk-fuelled “You’ve Changed” still leave room for infectious guitar licks, while Sia lightens her thick, cathartic drawl with twinkling playroom instrumentation. There are darker moments too, including the Madonna cover “Oh Father”, but it’s the upbeat entries that keep the album percolating with manic energy.

Waited so long

I've always liked Sia. Not always liked every song, but from listening to the previews on this album I knew it sounded different.

I first heard You've Changed remixed by Lauren Flax, and I knew it was a killer track. Then, whilst in Hollister in Florida I heard Clap Your Hands and I had to have this album.

There is a far more commercial sound to this collection of songs, but I think she's changed direction in a fab way.

Love it.

Total genius! Best pop album of the year, without a doubt!

Come back Sia!

Oh Sia, please don't tell me you have been smothered by the commercial big boys so as to get this album produced.

I along with many others, have loved you from day dot and the Zero7 days and I have many happy memories of watching you performing with them at the V festival (although my memory is hazy as to whether it was 2000 or 2001 but I blame that on alcohol.

All your albums have been superior to all other artists in my iPod, but I feel this let's the side down a bit. It doesn't feel your natural, breathy, sexy self and I personally do not think it shows off your incredible voice.

I will always rate you as an artist, but please go back to the Sia we all love and try not to become too mainstream.

In a career filled with ups and downs, Sia Furler has been an in-demand guest vocalist; a quirky singer/songwriter; a hitmaker for the likes of Rihanna and Beyoncé; and more popular than ever as an artist in her own right in the 2010s. Although raised in Australia, Furler rose to fame after moving to the U.K., where she worked as a guest vocalist for several groups -- including the electronica duo Zero 7 -- and released her own solo albums. Born in 1975, she first performed on the Adelaide jazz circuit...
