Customer Reviews

No one can surely disagree with the quality of this album. The television programme that accompanied the album reinforced the sheet quality of all involved. THE recording, orchestration and singing of an American classic!

Good but over-priced

Does it work?

There's no escaping the fact that this is an extremely well sung CD. Big operatic voices, big orchestra and ,of course, conducted by Bernstein himself. However, it sounds too professional and polished and ADULT to make it a credible show recording. They just don't sound like the 16 year old street gangs that they should do.
