Album Review

The second full-length by North Carolina screamo act Alesana finds the sextet inching ever closer to the mall punk mainstream. Where the pretentiously titled debut, On Frail Wings of Vanity and Wax, was focused primarily on lead singer Dennis Lee's forced screams and growls, the more commercially minded Where Myth Fades to Legend makes far greater use of the band's clean vocalist, guitarist and keyboardist Shawn Milke, whose appealingly whiny voice is more suited to the hooks-and-riffs songwriting that predominates here. Simply on that basis, the album is an improvement over their debut, and Where Myth Fades to Legend is conceivably of interest to some subset of the Vans Warped Tour crowd.

Must Buy

Deffinitely worth buying, these guys are brilliant. very strong emotional lyrics. 10/10

A legend indeed

Well after listening to Alesana's first album I thought they would never follow it up, their return has exceeded my expectations. Each song is amazing and the band has perfected it's sound. Looking forward to a bright future.

Good, but something missing

I saw Alesana at download this year, and they were absolutely AMAZING! full of energy and possess a very unique sound. In their set they played a few tracks from this album and they sounded really good live. This album is definately an improvement on the previous album, and the videos are a nice extra, but still there is something missing! This album is still definately worth buying!
