I've been a fan for a while and been so excited for this album to come out. Didn't disappoint!


Heard them on Jools Holland, blew me away been waiting for this ever since. Awesome album, definatly worth buying.

A real gem

Their free download of The Shore brought them to my attention and I have been looking forward to this album since. It has a lot of great tracks and I struggle to find one I don't like, which is rare in a time when albums seem to be heading down the route of having a handful of marquee tunes and the rest rather average fillers.

I had heard a few of the tunes before but even so there is a familiarity to their songs, not in terms of being unoriginal, but more developing and taking forward the sound of some indie bands from the early 90's. All in all a gem for 2011.

Initially a throwback to the Manchester scene, specifically the sound of the Smiths, Chapel Club formed in the summer of 2008 in London. Guitarist Michael Hibbert founded the group along with drummer Rich Mitchell, vocalist Lewis Bowman, and childhood friends Liam Arklie (bass) and Alex Parry (guitar). After much debate, Chapel Club were ultimately named after St. Luke’s Church, where the band practiced. After the group made waves in England with live performances, debut single "Surfacing" was released...
